What is Access Consciousness Bars®?

Access Bars is a gentle, hands-on technique that was introduced by Gary Douglas in the early 1990s which involves lightly touching 32 points on the head. Through gentle touch on specific points of the head, Access Bars helps release the energetic charge of stored thoughts, ideas, attitudes, decisions, and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck. These points correspond with different aspects of life and, when activated, gently dissolve stored electromagnetic energy in the brain and energy field. From a scientific perspective, this process has been shown to calm brainwave activity, similar to deep meditation. As the energy clears, your system returns to a natural state of balance - opening space for greater clarity, ease, and awareness in everyday life.

The idea is simple: by activating these points, the body and mind are invited into a state of deep relaxation. Clients often describe it as a "reset" for the brain - like defragmenting a computer or clearing mental clutter.

During a session, you lie fully clothed on a therapy couch while I gently hold each set of Bars points. There is no talking required - just stillness, space, and permission to let go.​
